Gorgeous Emeralds

My grandparents loved to get dressed up and go out and dance with friends. They never had that much money and couldn’t afford expensive luxurious jewelry to dress up with. But my grandpa loved my grandma and he knew how she loved emeralds and loved to dress up fancy, so he bought her the closest thing he could find to a set of emerald necklace, earrings, and bracelet. They were fake but they represented much more. My mother kept them in a special case that was lined with red velvet, which to me at a young age made it look that much more luxurious. They were placed under the sink in her bedroom bathroom for safe keeping. When I was little I would sneak in her room just to look at the jewelry. I’ll never forget how they looked and felt when I put them on. I felt so beautiful and mature. It tied me to my mother and my grandmother, all our birthdays in May and we all had a love for this jewelry.
