Mom Had The Funnest Stuff!

My mom was a nut for costume jewelry. She had all sorts of necklaces, earrings and pins that were always ‘over-the-top’! My favorite necklace was a huge assortment of ‘gems’, all about and inch wide and the entire necklace was as big around as a hula-hoop! I used it for Halloween one year when I went as a gypsy. Of course I borrowed her 4 inch rhinestone butterfly pin too! Her coolest earrings were, of course, gigantic too. They were glass bluebirds which you could see through. Very beautiful glass like in church windows. I still have all of her stuff and occasionally enjoy just looking at it and remembering her. She was an original!
