Reversing Roles

Well, we all know that old people need to be treated and cared for just like small children. I realized this only when my own parents started getting older and older and when they started needing help and support for almost all of their daily activities.

They had started losing their teeth, their hair, their eyesight, their hearing ability got impaired and they started looking like those innocent babies only who do not understand anything about the worldly matters. This is so similar to the new-born babies who also do not have their teeth, hair etc when they just come into this world.

Now, my age-old parents needed all that care and love from us just as the babies who are literally dependent on us for everything, they need to be spoon-fed as they do not have teeth and we need to help them for all other activities as they have not learned to walk yet! Similar is the case with the aging parents who need our support for almost everything when they grow old and start becoming weak.

I had just heard about it before but now I have also experienced that now our roles as a parent-child are getting reversed, its now that we look after our parents as kids and they look for our support and love!
