My mother was never big on jewelry. She always said her kids were her most beautiful accessory, as she carted all six of us with her everywhere she went. Yet she wore the same pair of earrings every day, beautiful gold and pearl earrings. They were given to her by her mother. My three sisters and I all vied to be the ones to win those earrings from her “when we were all grown up”. Mother is older now, and has not only four daughters, but two granddaughters as well to choose from when giving away those earrings. As for now, she is still wearing them. I think that is where they belong.
